Westminster Greco Matsumoku 1977
Westminster Greco
Vintage Jazz Bass

When you think of Japan's leading vintage brands, Greco, ARIA, YAMAHA, and Fernandes come to mind first.

Among them, Greco is famous for its collaboration with Fujigen, and Aria with Matsumoku, but this is a Greco sister brand born from the collaboration of Greco and Matsumoku.
Therefore, the serial number rules follow Matsumoku, and it appears to be a 1977 model.

Akira Takasaki, the pinnacle of Japanese rock guitarists, praised Matsumoku in a past interview.
He said, Matsumoku truly has a craftsman's spirit, and if it were still around today, I wouldn't be surprised if it cost 600,000 yen, and since then, I've played many Matsumoku guitars.

While Matsumoku can mean many things, this unit has a very retro, bizarre-like tone.
The wood type is unknown, but the back has a gorgeous grain, and the look is typical of the early Japanese vintage generation.

It's reminiscent of ELK.
As per prior information, the craftsmanship is very meticulous, and it reproduces the bizarre sound with a modern playing feel. It's a brand whose overseas popularity remains strong for surf rock and other genres today! ✨

【Condition】
Neck: Straight
Basic maintenance performed (fretboard polishing, fretboard moisturizing to prevent warping)

Sound output confirmed.
The front pickup sounds slightly lower in volume.
This is likely a specification issue due to setting adjustments, not a defect.

To ensure string clearance, the pickup would need to be lowered, so we are looking for buyers who can accept this as a characteristic of the era.

* Beautiful condition is a subjective judgment of minor scratches, scuffs, and dirt. Please understand that there may be some signs of use.
* If not shown in the photos or description, accessories such as boxes, manuals, and cases are not included.
