Violin case, purchased in 1980, lightweight, slim

This is a case that originally held a full-size Suzuki violin purchased in 1980.

Thickness: Approx. 12cm
It is very light and thin, so how about using it for travel?
I have marked it as Slightly scratched or dirty because there is rust on almost all of the metal fittings, but it has been carefully stored after only a few months of use, so there are no noticeable dirt or scratches. There is a little rosin on the underside of the lid of the rosin case. (Image 9)
