Violin Bow Alfred Knoll
Alfred Knoll
Germany stamp behind the frog
Full-size authentic German bow
This is a bow that can be called a lucky find.
The wood is a very dark pernambuco, balancing suppleness and rigidity, allowing for delicate expression from pp to ff. The quality of the wood and its performance are on par with multiple bows in the 200,000-300,000 yen range. (I understand this might sound like sales talk coming from the seller...)
This is a model that sells for around 100,000 yen at specialty stores (models with the full name stamped), and I believe it's a worthwhile purchase at a conservative estimate.
The winding, leather grip, varnish at the frog, and the condition of the stick are all in excellent condition, very close to unused.
For professionals, this could be a secondary bow, and beginners have much to learn from this bow.
Please consider it.
