【Price Reduction】Pierre Simon Violin Bow - Old French Bow Simon
Pierre Simon
Purchased 22 years ago from Koichiro Maeda of Violin House Maeda in Minoo City, Osaka, a well-known establishment in the Kansai region. The hair has been cut. This is an old French bow by Pierre Simon. While there is no certificate of authenticity, the receipt with details and contact information is available. The tip of the bow features Simon's characteristic design. This is an antique, high-quality bow, and I believe its value will continue to increase.
This bow was used by a family member along with an Enrico Marchetti violin. It produces a resonant, large-scale sound with a substantial feel on the strings.
This is a bow for advanced players who are knowledgeable about violins and bows and can appreciate its quality. I believe the price is reasonable for someone who will cherish it.
Due to prank inquiries with no intention to purchase, please negotiate the price within a reasonable range via comments.
Pierre Simon trained and worked in his hometown of Mirecourt until 1838 before moving to Paris and joining D. Peccatte's workshop. While Peccatte's influence on his work is significant, he moved to Vuillaume's workshop in 1840 and produced many excellent bows of various types, including picture bows, during his time there until 1844. When Peccatte returned to Mirecourt in 1848, Simon took over the remaining workshop in Paris and continued to supply bows for Vuillaume and the Gand Brothers.
