This inkstone is from the area around Mount Fuke, which faces Gaoyao County in Guangdong, China. As it is located on the southern slope of the old quarry, many stones closely resemble those from the old quarry's Duanxi inkstones. The ink grinding is excellent, and most feature a fine-grained texture with a reddish-purple base color. Compared to old quarry Duanxi inkstones, the stone is drier, resulting in a stone sound closer to a metallic tone.
