Yadate (writing brush holder) - Quite old, retro item

Yatate (Portable Writing Set)

Origin unknown.

This is a portable writing tool called a Yatate that people used to carry tucked into their obi (sashes) during the Edo period and other times.

It is old overall.

Thank you for looking.
