Contrabass Endpin - Tungsten-infused Brass / Brass Tip
This is an endpin for double bass made by Mitsuke Seiki Kogyo. Please note that the box and the BRASS TUNGSTEN marking are missing (they disappeared after being polished with Pikal several times).
It is made by press-fitting the rare metal tungsten into brass.
Diameter 10mm Φ, length 30cm. The grooves are spaced 2cm apart for the first 6 steps from the tip, and the remaining 3 steps are spaced 3cm apart.
Here are my personal impressions on my instrument:
Compared to iron endpins, the overtones are richer, the sound response is improved, and even intricate passages feel easier.
It has been used only a few times in performances and has no chips or bends, but please understand that it is a used item.
Size: 10mm (diameter) x 300mm (length)
Weight: 253g (main body) + 37g (rubber)
Manufacturer: Mitsuke Seiki Kogyo Co., Ltd.
Manufacturer's direct sales price: 30,800 yen (tax included)
