ULTRA USA Double Bass Mute Silencer

This is a mute for double bass.
I purchased it new about a year ago and used it 2-3 times.
There are some minor scratches.

There are two types of mutes for violins: silencing (weakening sound) mutes, which can reduce the volume for home practice, and performance mutes, which are used during performance to change the tone. The ULTRA Ultra Mute is the former type, a silencing (weakening sound) mute, and is a very effective item for when you want to reduce the volume, such as during home practice.

Silencing (weakening sound) mutes are more effective the heavier they are. However, heavy metal mutes have disadvantages such as scratching the bridge or damaging the instrument if dropped, and must be used with caution. Also, bridge shapes are not always the same, which can make it difficult to attach the mute.

Since the ULTRA Ultra Mute is made of rubber, it has the significant advantage of being less likely to damage the bridge or instrument and fitting easily to the shape of the bridge. It is reasonably priced and easy to obtain, so keeping one in your instrument case pocket will be useful in any situation.
