MoMA Sky Umbrella

The Sky Umbrella, a bestseller and long-selling item at MoMA Design Store in Japan as well as in New York.
It has been over 20 years since the legendary graphic designer Tibor Kalman and Emanuela Frattini Magnusson (EFM Design) brought a simple idea to life and it was released by MoMA Design Store in 1992.
The black fabric and wooden handle visible when the umbrella is closed are standard, but as soon as you open it, the blue sky and pure white clouds spreading inside instantly brighten your mood on a rainy day. This design, full of Kalman's signature blend of surprise and humor, garnered attention from its release and established him as one of the most influential designers of the 1980s and 1990s.
