【Harp Sheet Music】FOLK SONGS FOR SMALL HARPS by Daniel Burton
FOLK SONGS FOR SMALL HARPS Arrangements by Daniel Burton
A gem of a folk song collection for players who love Celtic and small harps. This FOLK SONGS FOR SMALL HARPS was arranged by Daniel Burton, also known as a harp educator.
The greatest appeal of this book is that it is specially arranged for harps with a range of three octaves, from Middle C down to the lowest C. This means it's ideal for small lever harps (such as Irish harps). This allows players of small harps, who often struggle with insufficient range in sheet music for grand harps, to enjoy a full repertoire.
The contents include the following heartwarming traditional folk songs:
1. I Gave My Love a Cherry (15th Century English Folksong)
2. Shenandoah (Traditional American Folksong)
3. The Water Is Wide (Traditional English Folksong)
4. Aura Lee (Traditional American Folksong)
The arrangements maintain the simple beauty of the original songs while incorporating harp-like resonance, easy fingering, and chord placements. The difficulty level is beginner-intermediate, requiring some lever changes, but all songs are in C major, making it perfect for beginner learners as well.
This book is perfect for various occasions where the warm sound of a small harp is desired, from home practice to volunteer performances and background music at events. It is a valuable collection of arrangements to make the most of your small harp.
