Rare! Made in England BOOSEY & HAWKES Nickel Silver with Silicone Pad Specification (^^♪

Thank you for looking. This is a silver-plated BOOSEY & HAWKES REGENT flute made in England. The manufacturing year is unknown, but I believe it is over 20 years old. The plating feels like nickel. The construction is solid, and surprisingly, the pads are made of a silicone-like material, not ordinary felt pads. Because of this, and perhaps due to the excellent seal of the keyholes, the low notes resonate very strongly. I have played dozens of flutes, and the low notes on this flute have an amazing resonance. I was surprised at how much difference the pads made. There is no stress in playing the low notes. BOOSEY & HAWKES appears to be a manufacturer in England that also produces wind instruments, such as trumpets. I acquired this flute from another site hoping the headjoint would fit my flute, but it didn't, so I am now selling it. After acquiring it, I completely disassembled it, cleaned and oiled the pads, reassembled it, and tested it. I confirmed that it can produce notes from C in the first octave to C in the fourth octave. I believe the pads are still in good enough condition for plenty of playing. There is one small dent on the side of the body tube. Other than that, there is some minor plating wear on the keys and tubes due to age. I have polished it to some extent, so it is relatively clean. This flute did not come with a case when I acquired it, so I have stored it in a new shoulder case. I have set the price based on the acquisition cost plus the cost of the new case.
