Vintage Signed Studio Pottery 1991 Tenmoku Stoneware Tokkuri Vase
For your consideration is a gorgeous vintage studio art pottery stoneware vase, hand-thrown and dated 1991. This beautiful collectible is designed in the classic form of a traditional Japanese sake serving bottle (Tokkuri), featuring a flared rim, a slender neck, and a multi-faceted bulbous body. The piece features a striking, dark metallic tenmoku style glaze with rustic iron tones, perfectly contrasted by an earthy, unglazed multi-toned accent band along the bottom edge. The unglazed stoneware base is hand-incised by the ceramic artist with their signature/cipher (appearing to read JA) alongside the clear year mark '91. Design Styles: Modern Organic, Japandi, Mid-Century Modern Ceramic Art, Brutalist, Wabi-Sabi Condition: Excellent vintage condition. No chips, cracks, or repairs. The glaze retains its rich depth and beautiful luster. Approximately 51/2 x 31/2 inches
