【Excellent Condition】J.Michael Alto Horn AH-600
This is a J. Michael alto horn.
Purchased new one year ago and used for home practice.
Initially used for about an hour, three times a week, for about six months.
Now selling because I am playing a different instrument and have purchased a new one. It has been stored at home and used intermittently for another year.
Lightly cleaned.
The slide joints move without issue.
The water key is also fine.
The pistons are fine. There is one spot of discoloration.
A child used it, and the sound is fine.
The included unbranded mouthpiece will be provided as is.
The included oil and other accessories will also be provided as is.
I originally used a YAMAHA mouthpiece, so I used this one a few times for casual playing, but it has been cleaned.
If you need a fingering chart, I can find one online, print it out, and include it.
Please check the images for any small spots that look like dirt or rust.
No other major dents or scratches are apparent, but please understand that this is not a new item.
The case is a 3-way type, but it shows some signs of dirt. It is still usable.
Please only purchase if you have reviewed the images and understand that this is a used item.
The item will be shipped with the instrument protected inside the case, the case itself wrapped in bubble wrap, and then covered with stretch wrap. While we take great care in packing to protect the instrument, we cannot be held responsible for damage during transit.
Also, please note the important warnings on our profile page.
Color: Clear Lacquer
Brand: J. MICHAEL
Instrument Key: E Flat
Material: Brass
Style: Brass, Western
Item Weight: 5.2 Kilograms
An alto horn perfect for British-style brass bands.
The alto horn, a member of the saxhorn family conceived by Adolphe Sax, covers the alto range. To achieve a richer tone, it features a wider bore and a larger, Western-style design.
Unlike student models with bores closer to trumpets or cornets, this alto horn's wider bore allows for a distinct tonal difference when playing with trumpets and cornets in an ensemble. It is ideal not only for elementary school brass bands but also for those looking to try British-style brass bands.
