Vintage Copper Finished Native American Boy and Girl Salt and Pepper Shaker Set
The female figure is styled with classic braided hair and patterned attire, while the male figure is depicted holding a traditional drum. Both figures feature distinct feather detailing on their headbands. Heavy-cast with a rich burnished copper/bronze patina, these beautifully catch the light and add warmth to any rustic, southwestern, or Thanksgiving table display. These kitschy novelty figures were manufactured in Japan during the 1950s and 1960s and sold as popular roadside tourist souvenirs across North America. Great vintage condition with a beautiful natural aged patina. Minor surface wear consistent with age and history. One of the shakers has a stopper and one has a slender plastic bottle insert (maybe to keep the salt from damaging the metal?) Approximately 2.5 tall with 1×1.25 base.
