N/A Antique E. Burhorn Coin Silver Fork Bright Cut Engraved c1870 Retailer Mark

US Size:

Beautiful antique American coin silver dinner fork featuring intricate hand-executed bright-cut engraving with floral and geometric designs. The reverse is stamped E. BURHORN., believed to be the retailer's mark of jeweler Ernst Burhorn of Council Bluffs, Iowa, who operated during the late 19th century. The engraved decoration closely resembles the popular Towle Engraved/Brite Cut style of the period, although the exact manufacturer has not been confirmed. Similar engraved patterns were sold through independent jewelers and retailers during the late 1800s. Features: * Antique American coin silver fork * Marked E. BURHORN. * Additional small maker's/touch mark near neck * Hand bright-cut engraved floral decoration * Original period monogram - maybe B * Estimated late 19th century (circa 1870–1890) * Nice antique condition with expected surface wear from age and use * Please review all photos as they are part of the description. A wonderful addition for collectors of antique American silver, Iowa history, retailer-marked silver, or bright-cut Victorian flatware. Thx for looking! Shipper - cream 4
