This item is a hand-built studio pottery vase or sculpture, styled with a distinctive crumpled, organically distorted texture that mimics a crushed sack or compressed tree trunk. There are no cracks, just intentional variation to this sculpture. Key Characteristics & Style Construction: It features an intuitive, hand-manipulated form with heavy folds, indentations, and unique different types of rough, tactile surface textures. Glaze & Finish: The piece is finished with a heavily textured, bubbly earthy brown glaze (resembling salt-glazing or a crater crawl glaze effect) with dark metallic, or iron-spotted, runoffs pooling around the top rim. Aesthetic Movement: This rough-hewn look strongly aligns with the mid-to-late 20th-century Studio Pottery movement, drawing inspiration from brutalist, organic, and abstract expressionist ceramics Here are the unique ways to use the vase: Whimsical Holiday Displays Santa’s Gift Sack North Pole Toy Sack The Grinch Sack Natural & Textural Fillers Pine and Pinecone Nest Winter Twigs Dried Seed Pods Unexpected Functions Moody Candle Holder Hidden Storage • Incense Holder Brutalist, Studio Pottery, Wabi-Sabi, Mid-Century Modern, and Earthy Rustic
