Operation OK! Neo Geo Console, 1 Controller, AC Adapter, AV Cable

★ Tested and working perfectly on March 2, Reiwa 8 (2026)!

The following is an unvarnished account of the process leading up to its successful operation.

This item has been stored in my parents' home for many years.
When I tested it for the first time in about 30 years, the screen initially displayed garbled characters but still functioned.
The display was glitchy, similar to character corruption often seen with old game consoles, but the audio was normal.
I removed the ROM cartridge from the unit several times and blew compressed air on the contacts of both the unit and the ROM, but the glitch did not resolve.
So, I applied contact restorer spray to the ROM cartridge slot of the unit and the AV cable, dried them with compressed air, and left it for a few days.
After that, the glitchy screen disappeared, and it started working perfectly! (See photos)
I played King of Fighters '97 for about 10 minutes, and the controller and all its buttons worked normally!
