Thank you for looking. This is an antique obi dome (kimono sash ornament). It is a vintage item.

This charming obi dome features a lustrous red gourd with meticulously hand-painted flowers (chrysanthemums and peonies).

The cord section and other parts are adorned with very delicate carvings.

The back is inscribed with the artist's mark, 忠寿作 (Chuju Saku).
With the gourd, symbolizing prosperity, and the inscription 寿 (Kotobuki - longevity/celebration), this is a very auspicious and lucky obi dome.

Recommended for festive occasions such as New Year's, weddings, and ceremonies, as well as for antique kimonos.

The material is unknown. It is heavier than resin and feels luxurious. (Weight: 15 grams)

Dimensions are approximately 3.2 x 6.2 cm.

The metal fitting is sized to accommodate a sanbun-himo (three-strand cord, approx. 0.9 cm wide).

There are minor scuffs, but no noticeable chips or peeling, and it is in good condition for its age.
