((Notes on Battery Replacement))
The top surface of this battery (the side with the model number engraved) is the positive (+) terminal, and the bottom surface is the negative (-) terminal.
Electricity flows when the positive and negative terminals are connected. (Electricity will flow even if you hold it with your fingers.)
If you use metal tweezers to grip both the top and bottom of the battery, it will cause a short circuit. For silver oxide batteries (SR series), this can completely discharge the battery in less than 30 seconds (or about 10 seconds for batteries with smaller capacity).
