Contrabassoon Finished Reeds 2 pcs Rieger
Thank you for looking.
This is a listing for 2 finished contrabassoon reeds.
- Reed Dimensions:
Blade: Approx. 36mm
Tube: Approx. 37.5mm
Total Length: Approx. 73.5mm
Shaper used: Rieger No. K1 (tip width 20.00mm)
*Rieger No. K1 is an orthodox shaper that combines tonal cohesion with a rich sound.
- Materials:
Rieger, Germany (Material origin: Southern France)
The material produces a slightly dark, rich, and flexible tone with ample vibration.
We select and use materials with a hardness of 13-20 (slightly hard to slightly soft) as measured by the Reeds'n Stuff hardness gauge.
To minimize changes after finishing, the reeds are made over a period of approximately 2 months from assembly to finishing.
During the finishing process, the reeds are shaped to ensure clear articulation of the p sound and a balanced range from low to high notes, capable of producing a wide dynamic range from p to f.
The reeds are finished to maintain a resonant tone even when playing at f, making them suitable for:
- Players who prefer a slightly more resistant reed
- Players with larger lung capacity
- Players who enjoy reeds with resistance
These reeds are primarily recommended for intermediate to advanced players.
*Listed as Near Mint because the reeds have been play-tested during the finishing process.
