This is a bolt of Shijira-ori fabric dyed with Awa Shoai-zome, designated as an Intangible Cultural Property of Tokushima Prefecture.

It features the deep, beautiful indigo color unique to Shoai-zome and the characteristic smooth, textured feel of Shijira-ori with its puckered surface (embossing).

Although this is a highly valuable item, it is being listed as remake material due to discoloration (fading) from long-term storage.

How about using this beautiful indigo-dyed fabric for handmade items such as bags, clothing, or interior tea boxes?

• Length: Unmeasured (Will be shipped folded in thirds. It is believed to be the length of one kimono, but this cannot be guaranteed.)

• Condition: Unused
• Due to long-term storage folded in thirds, there is fading (discoloration due to sun exposure) on the folded edges (See image 4).
• There may be a characteristic old smell or small spots.
