Bassoon Finished Reed 1 pc Danzi
Thank you for looking.
This is a listing for one finished bassoon reed.
- Reed Dimensions:
Blade: Approx. 28mm
Tube: Approx. 30mm
Total Length: Approx. 58mm
Shaper used: Rigotti No. 1a (tip width 15.50mm)
*The Rigotti No. 1a is a classic shaper that combines a focused tone with a rich sound.
- Material:
Danzi (Italy) (Material origin: Southern France)
This material has good resilience and produces a bright, powerful tone.
We select and use materials with a hardness of 13-18 (slightly hard to slightly soft) as measured by the Reeds'n Stuff hardness gauge.
To minimize changes after finishing, the reeds are aged for approximately 2 months from assembly to finishing.
During the finishing process, the reed is scraped to ensure clear articulation of p sounds, and to achieve a balanced range from low to high notes, with a dynamic range from p to f.
The reed is finished to maintain a resonant tone even when playing at f, making it suitable for:
- Players who prefer a slightly more resistant reed
- Players with good lung capacity
- Players who enjoy reeds with resistance
It is primarily recommended for intermediate to advanced players.
*Listed as Near Mint because the reed has been play-tested during the finishing process.
