Baritone Saxophone B&S Pad Set - Vintage, Unused
These pads were purchased when I was young and sent to Germany for brass instrument repair training. I was told by a craftsman that they are compatible with B&S baritone saxophones.
These are now very rare, a type without the backing paper on the reverse side of the pad. The tension on the sheepskin surface is achieved through stitching on the back.
The craftsman at the time told me, The ones without backing paper on the reverse side are less affected by moisture and maintain their shape better, so you should try them too. I purchased them based on this advice, but B&S went out of business shortly after, so I ended up storing them without ever getting a chance to use them.
I am gradually clearing out my instrument-related storage due to strict instructions from my family, and I found these during that process.
Currently, I only have these 4 bags available, so please consider them if you are interested.
[Pad Sizes]
The outer diameter of the pads is measured using digital calipers.
The outer diameter tolerance is set on the smaller side, so they should fit unless the cup is extremely distorted.
Also, for these pads, there is a taper towards the bottom of the pad, so the bottom diameter is smaller than the outer diameter.
