This is a set of parts for modifying the Viking Kayak Shin for splitting.

How about using these for kayak outfitting?
Plastic hinges are ideal for use in saltwater.
Also, because they are made of a slightly softer resin with good flexibility under load, unlike metal, there is no worry of deformation.
I have been using them for over 2 years, and the hinge parts have shown no particular problems or damage. The thickness of the screw mounting area is also sufficient, so I believe the strength is more than adequate.
●Regarding the hinges, I used them to modify the center console of a Viking Kayak Shin, and they make accessing the inside of the console much easier. (This is especially essential if you have a fish finder installed.)
They fit nicely into the recessed part of the cover, and they blend well with the material of the center console, looking good.
*Please be careful not to overtighten the screws and bolts, as this can cause the resin to crack.
*As shown in the third photo, there will be a slight gap at the split point.
*Feel free to use these for modifying kayaks with center consoles, in addition to the Viking Kayak Shin.
●The sixth photo shows the eyelets used on the console. I attached them to the front half of the cover that opens and closes, and they are very useful for frequently used tools like pliers and fish grips.
I have also included the length of the countersunk screws used in the seventh photo for your reference. The screw size (diameter) that fits perfectly is M5.
●Photos 8-10 show the parts for fixing the center of the cover after modifying the center console for division.
When divided, these parts can resolve the instability of the center part, especially during opening and closing. (The genuine cover is fixed at the four corners, so when divided, the center part is not fixed, causing the cover to move up, down, left, and right, making it unstable.)
Fixing to the cover side is done by drilling pilot holes and clamping. The hull side is fixed with screws. (The genuine part also uses screws. *Screws are not included.)
If you install a fish finder on the console cover, it will wobble due to the weight, making it difficult to use as is. This part solves that problem, so I highly recommend it.
