Zoo Tycoon 2 Extinct Animals Expansion Pack PC 2007 Microsoft
Zoo Tycoon 2 Extinct Animals Expansion Pack PC 2007 Microsoft Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals is the fourth and final expansion pack for the simulation game Zoo Tycoon 2, developed by Blue Fang Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Released for PC on October 16, 2007, it allows players to bring extinct species back to life through paleontological gameplay. It replaces and includes all content from the earlier Dino Danger Pack premium download. Key Animals The expansion features 36 animals, ranging from Ice Age mammals to dinosaurs and recently extinct species. Notable additions include the Tyrannosaurus rex, Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Saber-Toothed Cat, Woolly Rhinoceros, Dodo, Quagga, and Thylacine. Unique unlockable animals include the Killer Penguin (a reference to the original game) and the Quagga. Gameplay Mechanics The pack introduces a distinct gameplay loop centered on the Extinct Research Lab: Fossil Hunting: Players use a handheld sonar device to locate and dig up fossil fragments hidden around the zoo. Skeleton Assembly: Fossils are assembled like a jigsaw puzzle within the lab. Cloning: A DNA minigame determines the health and quality of the cloned animal. High scores can produce Super Animals, which are larger, healthier, and have unique genetics. Dino Rampage: If unhappy, large dinosaurs can break out and destroy exhibits. Players must subdue them using a first-person tranquilizer gun or hire a Dino Capture Team
