JB by Julie Brown
Jennings Brothers Wood Mantel Clock | Bridgeport CONN 8-Day Clock Vintage
This wooden bracket-style clock has an incredible weight, beautiful dark wood grain, and a wonderfully weathered patina on the brass backplate. It features a classic mechanical wind-up design with a lower seconds sub-dial. It does still work and tick, however the internal mechanism/face has a little bit of play inside the housing and will shift slightly when you wind it if you aren't careful. Brand: Jennings Brothers Mfg. Co. (JB) Origin: Bridgeport, Conn., U.S.A. Movement: Mechanical Wind-Up / 8-Day Movement Material: Wood case, Brass backplate & bezel trim Style Tags: Antique Americana, Dark Academia, Traditional, Mantle Clock, Shelf Clock, Horology, 1920s / 1930s Condition: Fair to Good antique condition. The wood housing shows minor cosmetic surface wear/scuffs consistent with age, and the brass backplate has a gorgeous aged patina. Functional Note: The clock is running/working, but the face/mechanism moves slightly inside the case when wound. Please handle with care when winding.
