Newspaper 96 National Japan Karate Championship VHS (with tournament pamphlet)

VHS video featuring a martial arts tournament held in 1996. This video showcases the All Japan Martial Arts Championship, which was taken over by Shinbukan from the 3rd tournament, featuring face palm strikes, throws, and joint locks. The tournament was organized by Yasuhito Onishi, who was also the All Japan champion of Kyokushin Kaikan. The matches were said to be so intense that an ambulance was always on standby, making for a truly impressive spectacle.

This video is packed with various martial arts, featuring competitors such as Susumu Yamazaki of Daido Juku, Katsuhisa Akasaki, the 1995 All Japan Amateur Shooto champion, Hidetada Irie, the Shooto heavyweight champion (who later became a professional wrestler, I believe), as well as competitors from Kenpo and Judo.
