Vintage 1960s Japanese/Thai Woven bamboo harvest decorative basket-14” tall
The weaving consists of vertical reeds for most of the basket's length, interspersed with decorative, finer weaving around the middle section and rim. “These types of baskets were traditionally used for various purposes in Japan, including storing rice, harvesting tea, carrying sake, and as flower arrangement containers called hanakago. However, this particular basket's size and shape suggest it could also be used decoratively, perhaps to hold a tall plant or tree by inserting a separate planter inside. “ Very nice & well made-Good quality basket that can be used decoratively or practically as a container to hold a plant or a tree Dimensions are in photos. diameter at the top rim 47” There is some residue on the base and inside the bottom from previous use,but otherwise in good condition
