This is a Japanese umbrella for outdoor use, in a subdued red color.
The colors in all the photos are not far off, but the first three photos are particularly accurate.

I have opened and closed it a few times indoors, but it has never been used outdoors.

There are no holes or tears, and the black lacquer on the ribs is not chipped, so it is a very beautiful item.

Imagine wearing a kimono, clogs, and holding this umbrella... it makes you look forward to rainy days (^_-)

The umbrella surface is oiled and can be used on rainy days.
