Hokusai Banzai Umbrella Red
This is a bangasa, a representative style of Japanese umbrella.
The bangasa is made using traditional methods: a bamboo frame is covered with Japanese paper, then finished with oil and paint. Hokusai Graphic's bangasa are handcrafted one by one by artisans who carry on this tradition. This work requires not only high skill but also concentration, so the number produced per day is limited. The sound of rain hitting a bangasa created with such craftsmanship will surely convey the sense of seasons and natural scenery that Japan once possessed to the present day.
