Final Price - Unused - Vintage - Purchased in Kyoto - Lovely Floral Pattern ♪ Japanese Umbrella - Made of Bamboo and Washi Paper
A truly wonderful vintage Japanese umbrella from Kyoto.
This is a rare item, purchased in Kyoto over 50 years ago and kept unused in storage.
Size: Approximately 68.5 cm in total length, approximately 71 cm in diameter when open (approximately 72.5 cm from tip to tip), approximately 6.5 cm at its widest when folded, and approximately 1.2 cm in diameter for the bamboo handle.
Materials: Bamboo, Japanese paper (washi)
A stylish floral pattern with a chrysanthemum-like motif in royal blue, ivory white, and blue-green hues.
Both the floral pattern and the colors are lovely. It's stylish for interior decoration or dance performances.
A rare construction made entirely of bamboo and Japanese paper.
Approximately 34 bamboo ribs are used, and the outer ribs and the tip are coated in black.
The edge is trimmed with blue-green tape, but there is a section where the trimming has shifted and is entirely tucked inside. (It's not very noticeable and hard to spot, but please be aware of this beforehand.)
The Japanese paper part does not appear to have a waterproof coating, so if you intend to use it, it would be suitable as a parasol but not for rain.
To open, gently spread the lower part of the umbrella by hand and then move the runner to open it.
It has been stored for years, unused and not even displayed.
Overall, the condition is good, but as is typical for vintage items, there are some minor paint chips, areas with slightly rough paint application, fading, smudges, a few small spots, and some light brown line stains.
There are black streaks between the ribs that naturally occur when folded.
Please purchase only after fully understanding and acknowledging that this is a vintage item and the details described.
Those who seek pristine condition or are bothered by even the slightest of the described points should refrain from purchasing.
Please forgive any minor oversights.
Immediate purchase is welcome.
