This is a magic item.

It is a wooden box with a clear acrylic top.
One die is inside.
You hand it to the spectator to examine closely.
No matter how much they examine it, the die will not rotate.
At this point, you ask the spectator to freely choose a number between 1 and 6.
For example, let's say they say 4.
The magician places the case on their hand and tilts it slightly...
Amazingly, the die instantly changes to the 4 that the spectator called out!
