Vintage Japan Lusterware Handpainted Windmill Plate, Orange Yellow Green Sunset. 9;3/4” x 9 1/2”, Slightly oval, small cut-outs on each end for handles. Features a scenic landscape with a windmill, and trees during a scenic sunset. Says Made in Japan on back of plate. Dates from the 1920’s to 1940’s. Lusterware is a technique that is centuries old. The iridescent quality is the result of a metallic glaze that is applied during the last firing. Good conditions, some markings from age but no chips.
