This is an antique Japanese textile from the Meiji to Taisho periods.
It is likely made of cotton due to its soft texture.
As it is a large piece, each side has been folded for photography.

The front features indigo-dyed stripes. The slightly blurred stripes in places create a beautiful expression.
The reverse side has a light gray fabric hand-sewn onto it.
Both the front and back show some fraying, small holes, and wear. Fine stains are also scattered throughout.
There are some tears along the edges of the fabric, but they are not extensive and are confined to the fabric edges.
After acquiring it, the fabric was washed to remove impurities and dust, so it does not have the characteristic smell or dustiness of antique textiles. It can be used for interior decoration or as a scarf. This item will complement moody coordinates in styles such as avant-garde, vintage, or artisan.
