This is a beautiful Japanese traditional craft, a genuine tortoiseshell (bekko) hairpin (kanzashi) by the artist Hirozan, bearing his signature.

The deep, beautiful black tortoiseshell serves as the base, adorned with raden (mother-of-pearl inlay) that shimmers with iridescent colors depending on the angle of light, and delicate gold maki-e (lacquer decoration) that intricately depicts a gorgeous floral pattern.
