Oshima Tsumugi

Amongst Tsumugi, Oshima Tsumugi is known as the Yokozuna of the West, in contrast to the Yuki Tsumugi of the East. It offers a pleasant rustling sound and a light hemline. It can be worn like a suit, despite being a kimono, and is resistant to rain and wrinkles. This comfortable and stylish kimono is created with intricate kasuri patterns and weaving techniques. That is Oshima Tsumugi.

Oshima Tsumugi is a pre-dyed woven fabric. The pre-dyed yarn has impurities removed, resulting in a high-density and strong yarn. Also, mud-dyed Oshima Tsumugi undergoes a dyeing process using sharinbai (wheel plum) and mud for 120 times, and is said to have the highest fastness in plant dyeing.

The haori lining is silk fabric.
