[Product Description]

Oshima Tsumugi is known as the Western Yokozuna in contrast to Yuki Tsumugi as the Eastern Yokozuna among Tsumugi silks. It makes a pleasant rustling sound when worn and allows for easy movement. It can be worn like a suit despite being a kimono, is resistant to rain, and does not wrinkle easily. This is the charm of Oshima Tsumugi, a comfortable and stylish kimono made with intricate kasuri patterns and weaving techniques.

Oshima Tsumugi is a pre-dyed woven fabric. Because the pre-dyed threads have impurities removed, they become denser and stronger. Furthermore, mud-dyed Oshima Tsumugi undergoes a dyeing process involving Sharinbai (a type of tree) and mud for up to 120 times, which is why it is said to have the highest color fastness among plant-dyed fabrics.

The lining of the kimono is a navy cotton fabric.
