Oshima Tsumugi

Amongst Tsumugi fabrics, Oshima Tsumugi is known as the Yokozuna of the West, in contrast to the Yuki Tsumugi of the East. It offers a pleasant rustling sound and a light hemline. It can be worn like a suit, is resistant to rain, and is wrinkle-resistant. This comfortable and stylish kimono is made with intricate kasuri patterns and weaving techniques. That is Oshima Tsumugi.

Oshima Tsumugi is a pre-dyed woven fabric. The pre-dyed yarn has impurities removed, resulting in a high-density, strong yarn. Also, mud-dyed Oshima Tsumugi undergoes a dyeing process using sharinbai (wheel plum) and mud for 120 times, and is said to have the highest fastness among plant dyes.

【Condition】

Although the basting threads are not attached, it is almost unused.
The haori (jacket) does not have sleeves.
The haori cord is made of the same fabric.
The lining is navy cotton fabric.
The haori lining is silk fabric.
