【Approx. 40 Years Old, Used, With Defects】Set of 2 Floral Pattern Zori (Sandals), 1 Floral Pattern Bag, and 1 Floral Pattern Coin Purse
【Slightly Imperfect Vintage Zori Set】
These were received from someone who had them in storage.
Here's the story of how they were made:
My mother apparently used to sew kimonos. She received scraps from her kimono-making, and when she met a craftsman friend, she decided to have these made. They are about 40 years old. Both pairs of zori have the same pattern, but the inner part of the straps and the sides have slightly different designs, making them two distinct pairs.
⚠ The rubber on the heel of the zori soles has deteriorated and is slightly sticky.
⚠ One of the decorative studs (kakubyo) is missing.
When they were tried on at a kimono shop, the adhesive did not come undone (meaning the sole didn't peel open), but this was only for a short walk around the store. Given their age, if worn for extended periods, there's a possibility the soles could suddenly detach. For safety reasons, it is likely difficult to wear these zori.
If you intend to wear them, for safety, you would need to replace the heel rubber, reapply adhesive, etc.
Please have them inspected by a kimono shop or footwear store and consult with them before use.
Do not use them without repair, as it could lead to injury.
If you are collecting vintage items, displaying them in your room, or using them for photoshoots where they won't be subjected to stress, repairs might not be necessary, but we cannot guarantee this.
We ask for your understanding before purchasing.
- Design: Floral pattern (all made from the same kimono fabric)
︎✿ The floral pattern bag and coin purse are usable ︎✿
Please check the photos for the condition.
We will answer any questions to the best of our ability.
Thank you.
