MADE IN JAPAN.

This nib is popular and ranks among the top 4 recommended dip pens for penmanship practice.

Nium color:
This is a fine-tipped type processed with aluminum. It is softer and smoother than chrome-colored nibs.
Additionally, the Nium color is characterized by less ink blotting and excellent wear resistance.

This fine-tipped nib is easy for beginners to handle and produces a mellow line, making it a favorite among many enthusiasts.

Several instructors at the Japan Penmanship Study Association reportedly favor this pen.

Brand names vary:
- Nikko: ◆Spoon Nib
- Tachikawa: ◆Spoon Pen
- Zebra: ◆Tama Pen

LION, famous for office supplies, also produced them, but they are no longer manufactured.
The production and sale of nibs were discontinued over 20 years ago (Heisei 8).

Currently, the Japanese nib brands available are Tachikawa, Nikko, and Zebra.
Nikko's brand has been inherited by Tachikawa, so the current manufacturers are only Tachikawa and Zebra.
Nikko nibs are a popular brand, supported by instructors at the Japan Penmanship Study Association.

There are claims that older items have better performance.
During the period of high economic growth, around Showa 60, the production of dip pens reached astronomical figures of 1 million gross (1 gross = 144 pieces). However, with the changing times, government offices and banks also transitioned to ballpoint pens.

Nibs were crafted by artisans using machines, but it is said that the same machines are still used today. I have heard that there are fewer artisans now, and the skills of the artisans from the past were higher.

Furthermore, Nium-colored nibs show little deterioration and are said to retain their original performance even today.
However, they are plated with tin, and in some cases, they may become discolored, but this does not affect their performance.

I also enjoy practicing penmanship, and I change nibs depending on what I am writing. The Nium nib has a unique writing feel.
