【Background of Creation】
My beloved cat had surgery to remove a mammary gland tumor and needed to wear a post-operative suit to protect the wound. I didn't know what to get, so I bought one from the hospital, but it was ¥4,000 + tax per piece! It looked comfortable, but it was expensive!
My cat wanted to groom itself and was bothered by the wound, so it chewed on the suit!
The fabric became tattered. I patched it up.
In the end, I bought 3 suits. In the meantime, I tried making simple post-operative suits I saw online and remaking clothes sold at 100-yen shops, experimenting.
In the end, I couldn't make anything comfortable and just bought from the hospital.
I realized that depending on the location of the wound around the abdomen, especially near the groin, a stretchy and well-fitting suit is necessary to accommodate a cat's stretching and contracting body.
I wondered how everyone else managed... While thinking about this,
Good things have a purpose. I made this suit based on the hospital-bought post-operative suit.
We emphasize a certain degree of stretch and an open back for ease of movement, and spares are essential.
Tried ? Cutting and tying shirts was stressful for both of us when trying to put it on a lively cat...
Tried ? Cutting fluffy socks seemed easy, but it was actually difficult to cut the and areas, requiring repeated adjustments, which was a burden on the cat.
