Shichi-Go-San Boys' Nagajuban (Under Kimono)
This is a nagajuban (under-kimono) worn for Shichi-Go-San (a traditional rite of passage for young children).
The length has been shortened with shirushi (pleats) to allow for easy movement in hakama (traditional Japanese trousers).
The shirushi can be undone to match with a kimono for Omiyamairi (shrine visit for a baby).
The material is unknown as there is no tag, but it feels very soft and supple compared to synthetic fabrics. It may be pure silk.
The overall condition is clean with no stains or dirt.
Sleeve length (from center back to cuff): 45cm
Sleeve width: 55cm
Body length: 75cm (includes 19cm of shirushi)
