We have received our Setouchi seaweed harvested in December of last year.
Our popular onigiri nori (seaweed for rice balls) is back this year, and we are cutting Setouchi (Okayama Prefecture) seaweed for it.
The rich nutrients brought by the three large rivers flowing into the sea in Okayama create seaweed that is rich in flavor, umami, and sweetness.
This seaweed has a beautiful color and luster, and because it is harvested early in the season, it has a crisp texture.
Each sheet is carefully roasted. We have 28 full sheets (21x19 cm) for onigiri, which are cut into 3 pieces each, resulting in 84 pieces.
To prevent the pieces from scattering in the bag, they are wrapped in parchment paper and placed in a resealable bag.
This seaweed is perfect for onigiri, but also for wrapping mochi, or for use in cooking. Since it's cut into 3 pieces, we think you'll find it useful in many ways! (^-^)
Moisture is the enemy of seaweed!
As it comes in a resealable bag, we recommend storing it in the refrigerator with the zipper tightly closed.
*Since we cut the seaweed after you purchase it, the expiration date will be six months from your purchase date!
