This piece is by Cristina, a Spanish artist who simplifies images from Picasso's paintings into jewelry designs. Her grandfather was a modernist who supported Picasso in Malaga, Picasso's birthplace, and her mother works at the Picasso Foundation in Malaga. Cristina, raised in such a family, draws inspiration from paintings in her jewelry design work.

This piece was inspired by the portrait of a lady from the Casas Carbó collection at the Thyssen Museum in Malaga. The wire is 18K gold-plated silver, the green natural stone is jade, and the red and black stones are Swarovski crystals.
