This is finely crushed oyster shells.

We mainly use this as filter media for aquariums in our home.
It has been particularly useful for raising medaka recently.

We also crush it finer and mix it with insect food and bedding, or use it as a calcium supplement for small animals, reptiles, and birds.

Before using it for aquariums, we recommend washing it once with water.
If you use it without washing, the aquarium water may become cloudy.
