The bag opening has a zipper to conceal the contents and reduce the worry of dropping your belongings. The zipper also has the advantage of increasing capacity when pulled up.
The material is cotton canvas. The cotton canvas is paraffin-processed (special wax), making it more water-resistant than ordinary materials. The combed yarn used for the cotton canvas is a yarn that removes short fibers and impurities contained in the cotton during the spinning process. Since the fibers are long and uniform, there is little yarn unevenness, giving the material a unique luster and durability. Also, the selvedge of the fabric woven on an old loom from 60-70 years ago is another point ofこだわり (kodawari - attention to detail). TEMBEA products incorporate many designs that make use of the beauty of the selvedge, which looks like it has been cut off. The paraffin processing may appear white and shiny due to friction, but this is a characteristic of the material.
