[Sowing Method]
Sow in rows or broadcast, cover with about 1cm of soil, and compact firmly.
[Benefits]
? Soil Improvement
By extending roots deeply, it improves the soil's granular structure, enhancing drainage and aeration. This creates a better growing environment for vegetables.
? Organic Matter Supply
It produces a large amount of organic matter as it grows. Incorporating this into the soil increases the organic matter content and promotes microbial activity.
? Nitrogen Fixation
It forms a symbiotic relationship with root nodule bacteria to fix atmospheric nitrogen. This increases the nitrogen content in the soil, supplying essential nutrients for vegetable growth.
? Pest Suppression
It attracts natural enemies of pests, helping to reduce pest damage.
By cultivating this wild variety of oats as a preceding crop to radishes and other vegetables, it suppresses the population of flea beetles.
It also suppresses the population of root-knot nematodes, which cause continuous cropping disorder in root vegetables.
? Grass Mulching
Moisture Management:
Absorbs water when it rains and prevents surface drying when it's sunny.
Temperature Regulation:
In summer, it blocks direct sunlight to suppress ground temperature rise and prevent moisture evaporation. In winter, it protects the soil from drying, prevents ground temperature from dropping, and provides insulation.
Weed Suppression:
Grass mulching blocks sunlight that would otherwise reach weeds, suppressing their growth.
Soil Protection:
Prevents soil erosion and mud splash during rainfall.
Origin: Australia
Treated with chemicals
Seeds are not for consumption.
