● Harvest Timing
Available daily from late July to early September.
Let the red berries ripen on the vine until they turn black and fall off easily when touched.
This is when they become very sweet and even kids will love them! Fully ripened berries are not sour like store-bought frozen blackberries. Picking them too early when they are still slightly red will result in a sour taste.
● Uses
They grow well every year, and I freeze a lot of them. My children love them frozen with honey!
● About the Farm
Cultivated using rice bran, rice husks, rice washing water, compost, etc.
No pesticides used for 40 years since cultivation began.
Located in a mountain area away from car traffic, with almost no exhaust fumes.
● How to Grow
Germination typically occurs at 20°C, so the best time to sow seeds is from March to May in spring. They can be grown in pots or in the garden without pesticides.
Water consistently after sowing.
The best time to transplant thickened seedlings is in winter.
They are hardy and easy to grow, tolerating both cold and heat. The branches grow long like vines, so train them to climb fences or trellises. When planted in the ground, a single plant can spread several meters. They are self-pollinating, so one plant will produce fruit.
If fertilizing, do so in June and September after the flowers have finished blooming. It takes 2 to 3 years for the plants to start producing ripe fruit daily.
They are cold-hardy, so please be patient.
Once they sprout, they are very vigorous, producing many side shoots each year, and even elementary school children can easily harvest them.
They grow lushly like a jungle!
Variety: Thornfree
This variety has very few thorns, if any. It produces abundant fruit, and when fully ripened, it is sweet and delicious.
Shipping discounts available for combined orders.
