This is a chayote squash seed from last year, grown without pesticides.
There are some damages and scratches, but they do not affect the growth of the sprouts. Please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned about scratches, damage, or dirt.
I will take a photo at the time of shipment and send it attached to a message.
For shipping, I will attach moist tissues to the roots, so please plant it as soon as possible after arrival.
If you do not transplant immediately, please store it in a pot in a warm place.
How to grow
● The optimal growing temperature is 20-22°C, and it prefers warm weather.
● It is short-day, and fruits on the tertiary vines after September.
● Fertile soil with good water retention is recommended.
● The vines grow over 5 meters long, so ample space is required.
Harvesting can begin around October. One seed can yield about 100-200 chayote squashes.
For consumption, it can be used in salads, stir-fries, light pickles, kinpira, pickled in sake lees,
miso pickles, and other preserved pickles.
I will ship via the 4th class mail service using recycled boxes.
Thank you for your understanding.
