About Camphor Wood
?????????
Camphor wood is the source of the camphor used in my grandmother's chest of drawers.
It has been cut for some time, so the scent is not very strong, but when processing a single board, the camphor smell is so intense it makes you dizzy.

Insects that appear in the summer seem to strongly dislike its scent, and they tend not to appear in places where it's set up.
However, please note that the range of effect is limited.
We place it near our cat's food bowls.

Even after many years, when the scent is completely gone (personally), they still don't come around, so they really seem to hate it.
Besides those insects, it's also said to be effective against centipedes.

Also, even if the scent fades, it can be revived by shaving, cutting, or splitting the wood.
Furthermore, it has been famous as a material for carving since ancient times.
It is actually a precious wood, as many National Treasure Buddhist statues are made of camphor wood.

Also, sometimes places refer to it as aroma, but the effect of camphor wood is not insect repellent, but insecticidal.
Please refrain from using this as an aroma or incense.
